NOGGIN is Lodge 9 Kenwick Woods set in a tranquil haven on the eastern edge of the Wolds and overlooking Kenwick golf course in the County of Lincolnshire. At any time or season this part of Lincolnshire is just delightful.
We lived in NOGGIN for a year before purchasing our present home in Suffolk. We loved the peace and quiet. The only sounds at night are the owls. As many owners say as they drive down the private road a sense of relaxation envelops them. The lodges are extremely comfortable and homely and offer a great base for an active holiday for walkers, cyclist, golfers and fitness fanatics or the chance to really chill out.
The Wolds are pretty and unspoilt and the market towns of Louth, located precisely on the Greenwich Meridian and Horncastle to the south offer superb quality and value. They have ‘proper’ high streets that still have butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers. We have found they offer top quality local produce at very reasonable prices.
The butchers in Louth make superb pork pies and Lincolnshire sausages. There are several exceptional butchers in Louth and at the game shop a brace of pheasants may be purchased for as little as £5. Venison is available supplied from a nearby estate. Louth has a market every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday also selling exceptional local produce.
Things to do..
The log cabins are extremely comfortable and homely and offer a great base for an active holiday for walkers, cyclist, golfers and fitness fanatics or the chance to really chill out. For horse riders you will find some of the best and safest off-road riding in the UK. There is a UK Chasers course nearby and plenty of excellent livery yards (we can provide info you need it).
Golfers can play not only at the excellent Kenwick course there are numerous courses in the area. Walk across the golf course public pathway from the lodge to the delightful picturesque village of Cawthrope for a drink or meal at The Splash so called because of the ford there.
Leisure Park & and Health Spa..
When we are at the log cabin we take great advantage of the membership facilities at the associated leisure centre at the top of the private lane next to the Kenwick Park hotel. We regularly attend the all-inclusive yoga and Pilates classes and enjoy the free papers and the excellent snacks available at the leisure centre when we have a swim, Jacuzzi, Sauna or steam room.
The leisure centre has a kids club with excellent organised activities throughout holiday periods. These facilities are inclusive for our guests.
The hotel sometimes has special offers and discounts for cabin owners and their guests such as complimentary wine with themed meals including an excellent fish menu two evenings a week. Check at reception to book.
